Dr Paul Charlson MB BS MRCGP DRCOG DPD DOccMED Qualified as a doctor with MB BS from St Georges Hospital Medical School, London University.

He holds the following qualifications:

DRCOG (obstetrics + gynaecology)
DPD (Diploma in practical dermatology)
DOccMed (occupational medicine)
FPA Cert (family planning)
Certificate in Cosmetic medicine .
Dip Med Ac (medical acupuncture)

He has been a GP Principal, Brough since 1989, a GP Trainer, and a GP with special interest in Dermatology for 4 years. He is on the editorial board of MIMS Dermatology and is a member of The Primary Care Dermatological Society, The British Association of Dermatologists and The British Association of Cosmetic Doctors.

Dr Charlson formed Qure Ltd in 2002 and has a small but busy clinic,which is registered with the health care commission as an independent day hospital (Skinqure). He specialises in the medical approach to cosmetic dermatology

He consults at Spire Hull and East Riding Hospital as a cosmetic doctor and GPSI in dermatology performing aesthetic and surgical procedures.

In 2005 Dr Charlson set up a GPSI clinic in Dermatology with support of a local Consultant Dermatologist. This clinic provides dermatological advice to local GPs on referral and specialised skin surgery including the removal of skin lesions such as low risk basal cell carcinomas.

He was a member of the steering group that developed the Guidelines for GPSI in dermatology and skin surgery for the DoH. and is a regular contributor to MIMS Dermatology magazine and is an editorial board member.

He has lectured on cosmetic dermatology, acne and establishing GPSI services at MIMS conference and the Scottish Primary Care Dermatology Society and has written a series of articles on Aesthetic Dermatology for MIMS magazine such as cosmoceuticals in dermatology, use of lasers in aesthetic medicine and dermatology, treatment of wrinkles and photo-aging, body dysmorphia.
