Radiesse Hand Rejuvenation

Dermal filler hand rejuvenation Cheshire

Dr Teri Johnson performs Radiesse Hand Rejuvenation at Cheshire Lasers Clinic.

She also performs a range of other hand rejuvenation treatments which you can read about here.

Radiesse

Radiesse can help to improve ageing hands where loss of fat and thin skin has resulted in a bony appearance and unsightly veins.

What is Radiesse and how does it work?

Radiesse is a Dermal Filler launched in the UK in 2004.  It is made up of tiny beads of calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHa). CaHa has been safely used in the body for many years. Radiesse is not a permanent filler, the average effect lasting around 12 months depending on the client and the area treated.
Once injected into your skin, the smooth and spherical CaHA particles form a ‘scaffold’ which stimulates your own cells to produce collagen. The gel carrier dissolves within a few months and are completely metabolised by the body, leaving only the new collagen structure.

What happens during the Radiesse Hand Rejuvenation Treatment?

Dr Teri Johnson will perform a consultation and will discuss what you hope to achieve from the treatment and tell you whether or not these results are achievable. Your medical history will be taken, to ensure that there are no reasons why you shouldn’t have the treatment.

A cannula is used to deposit droplets of the Radiesse gel in the skin evenly over both hand to ensure the hands are equally covered.
Each hand takes about twenty minutes to treat. The hands are then thoroughly massaged firmly to ensure even spread of the Radiesse gel.

What should I expect after treatment?

You can return to work the following day after this procedure. However please avoid exposing your hands to any chemicals or dirty environments where the injection sites could be exposed to irritation or infection. Protection such as gloves would help reduce any adverse exposure.

You may have a few small bruises on your hands for a day or two afterwards.

With clean hands, massage your hands for a few days after treatment.  This will ensure the Radiesse is distributed evenly.

How Safe is a Radiesse Hand Rejuvenation treatment?

There are few reported side effects from clinical trials and actual usage of this product. Common injection-related reactions may occur, such as swelling, pain, itching, discolouration and tenderness at the injection site.
Some lumpiness at the injection site can rarely occur.

How much is a Radiesse Hand Rejuvenation treatment ?

£400 – 1.5ml of Radiesse  1/2 each side.

How many treatments will I require ?

The number of treatments usually depends on your age. It also depends on how your hands have aged and the results you want to achieve.

The following is a guide:

  • 55+ you most likely need 2 treatments for a good result 4-6 weeks apart.
  • 45 a single treatment is usual enough.
  • 45 – 55 the amount varies depending on the individual.

Laser / IPL Patient Information

Why do I need a Test Patch before my Laser / IPL treatment?

Test patches are carried out to determine the treatment parameters and to judge how your skin might react to a full treatment. A test patch is a small trial in an area with similar hair and skin to the treatment site and allows the practitioner to assess how well the light energy is being absorbed and whether the skin is responding as would be expected.

Clients are asked to make a note of any redness or swelling and how long it takes to reduce following the test patch, also whether or not the skin blisters or feels excessively hot and for how long.

I have had laser /IPL before so why do I need a test patch?

Every machine is different we need to test your response to our Lynton AQS Laser / IPL Machine.

Even if you have had a treatment before on the same machine some where else and even if you can tell us the exact settings used, we still need to test patch again. This is incase the machines are calibrated at a different intensity.

Not had a treatment with us for over a year?

If you have not had a treatment with us for over a year we are required to repeat the test patch. A repeat patch test costs £25.  This is a requirement with our insurance in case your skin has changed and is not negotiable.

Pre-Treatment Laser / IPL Information:

  • The area to be treated should be free from make-up, perfume, deodorant and body or face creams. Be careful when using spray deodorant prior to treatment.
  • There should be no active or fake tan in the area to be treated.
  • Use of sunbeds or prolonged exposure to sunlight is not allowed for at least a month prior to treatment and an SPF 30 or more must be used on the area between treatments. Suntans must be left to fade completely before treatment can start.
  • Fake tans must also be fully faded before treatment can commence.
  • We reserve the right to charge for any appointment booked but abandoned due to active sun-tan or fake tan.
  • A medical history is taken at consultation, but we rely on you to inform us of any changes to this. We need to know of any medication you are taking including those bought from a chemist or herbalist.
  • Make sure that you arrive in good time for your appointment; this will allow us to pre-cool the skin if this should be required.

Post-Treatment Laser / IPL Information:

  • In order to minimise skin heating and to reduce the likelihood of skin reactions, the treatment area may be cooled before, during and after the procedure. If the area still feels hot at home you can apply a cold flannel or cool pack. Do not allow ice packs or ice into direct contact with the skin.
  • Following treatment the area may appear red and raised and you may experience a tingling sensation. This is completely normal and should settle over the next few days.
  • Occasionally you may experience swelling or bruising and this can last anything from 1-2 days up to 1-2 weeks. If you experience swelling, it is usually worse one to two days following treatment. If it follows a treatment to a facial area, sleeping with your head raised on pillows will minimise its appearance. Cool packs will also help to reduce the swelling. If your skin is particularly sensitive and prone to histamine reactions, you may also wish to consider taking an anti-histamine medication.
  • Following treatments on the cheeks please note that it is very likely the area and the area around your eye (both above and below the eyes) may swell, particularly overnight as the body goes through the normal healing process. There may not be swelling after the patch test, however, as the treatment area is usually larger this may well happen after treatments. It is usually a good sign of the treatment working but can be rather alarming if you are not prepared. Sleeping with your head raised on pillows will minimise its appearance. Cool packs will also help to reduce the swelling. If your skin is particularly sensitive and prone to histamine reactions, you may also wish to consider taking an anti-histamine medication.

Laser / IPL After Care Information:

  • Make-up can be applied after several hours, if the skin is not sore or broken. However, we advise caution if the area is feeling sensitive. Remove make up carefully as rubbing the skin can cause irritation or infection. If the skin at the treatment area becomes broken, then make-up should be avoided.
  • Care should be taken to avoid trauma to the treated area for 4 or 5 days afterwards. Avoid strenuous activities, sauna and steam, excessively hot baths, massaging etc.
  • Wash and bathe as normal but take cool showers rather than hot baths. The skin should be patted dry and not rubbed. Use an aloe vera gel or after sun cream to keep the area moisturised and the skin protected. If there is any discomfort, treat the area as you would sunburn.
  • Use a sunscreen (SPF 30+) and protect the area from sunlight as much as possible between treatments and for at least one month after treatment ends. Failure to do this can lead to sunburn and hyper-pigmentation of the treated area. (Most cases of changes in pigmentation occur when the treated area has been exposed to sunlight, or in people with darker skin types).
  • If blistering occurs keep the area clean and dry and allow to heal naturally. Do not use any lotions or creams on open skin as this may increase the risk of infection. DO NOT pick grazes or blisters – as this may increase the chance of a scar occurring. Once the skin has healed, a high protection sunscreen should be used daily for 12 months to prevent pigmentation changes to the skin. Please contact the clinic as soon as possible for further advice and so that we can check it and advise if necessary.

If you plan to purchase a course of treatment view our Laser and IPL course terms and conditions here.

Please be aware we have a 48 hour cancellation policy.

Semi Permanent MakeUp

Semi permanent cosmetics is an advanced form of cosmetic tattooing and is similar to conventional tattooing but the pigment is not implanted as deep.

The equipment used is much quieter and less traumatic to the skin.

The pigments used are designed to naturally blend with your skin.

The most popular procedures are:

eyebrows

Great treatment for people who have

  • over plucked their eyebrows
  • had chemotherapy
  • alopecia
  • suffered with hair loss
  • people who regularly need to use a brow pencil for sparse eyebrows.

eyelash enhancement

An ideal treatment if you want to:

  • give the appearance of thicker lashes
  • have more definition
  • improve the shape of your eyes
  • give the illusion of eyelashes ( beneficial for alopecia patients )

This treatment is great for people with poor vision or an unsteady hand. It is also popular with busy people who don’t have time to apply make up daily.

The technique is created in the natural lash line to give the appearance of thicker lashes, bigger eyes and it can enhance the colour of the eyes. The colour can be tailored to suit you and you can choose anything from a subtle touch of colour to a more obvious thick eye liner appearance.

lip line and lip blush

This procedure is fabulous and gives definition to the shape of the lips that might have been lost due to the ageing process or to create symmetry.

The lip blush technique is more advanced than the lip liner technique and makes the lips look more natural. The lip line is tattooed on and shaded into the natural lip.

Semi Permanent Makeup helps you to look well groomed and attractive whether you have just got out of bed, been to the gym or been swimming.

You will save time applying makeup and enhance and correct your natural appearance.

Advanced Electrolysis

Helena Fryer performs Advanced Electrolysis at Cheshire Lasers

advanced electrolysis milia, skin tag removal Cheshire

Advanced Electrolysis is used to remove or reduce a range of skin blemishes on the face and body, such as skin tags, milia, blood spots, thread veins and spider veins.

The treatment involves placing a very fine, sterile probe (needle) beside or into the blemish and applying a tiny amount of electric current. This generates a small amount of heat which ‘dries up’ the blood vessels that feed the blemish. This instantly removes or visibly reduces the size and appearance of the skin lesion.

This is a safe, effective and pain-free procedure that produces instant and excellent results.

What can Advanced Electrolysis treat?

Skin Tags

Skin tags are small, soft, skin-coloured growths on the skin. They resemble a small pieces of hanging skin, you can find them anywhere on the face or body. However, you most frequently see them in areas of friction, moisture and skin folds such as on the eyelids, neck, armpits, under the breasts or around the groin. Skin tags can be hereditary, due to a Human Papilloma Virus infection, pregnancy or age.

To remove a skin tag with advanced electrolysis low heat is applied to a tiny sterilised probe (needle). This heated end is used to cauterise the skin tag and dry up the area. A small scab forms, which falls away within a few days.

Milia

Milia are tiny cysts that contain keratin and sebum (lipid epithelial plugs or epidermal inclusion cysts). They are usually white, firm to the touch and the size of a pinhead. Milia most commonly occur over the upper cheeks and under the eyes but can occur anywhere on the body. They can appear on their own or in clusters. The exact cause is unknown but they can develop after any skin trauma. It is also thought that the use of heavy, rich creams or a change in facial products can be the cause of their appearance. They are seen more often after holidays when rich sun creams have been used to protect the skin from the sun.

Milia removal with advanced electrolysis is a quick and easy treatment. A fine heated probe (needle) is used to desiccate the contents of the milia and the remaining tissue is absorbed into the body with no need for extraction.

Campbell De Morgan Spot / Cherry Angioma / Blood Spots

Campbell De Morgans (Blood Spots) range in colour from bright red to purple. They are usually round, dome-shaped, have a smooth surface and can be up to 5mm in diameter. They are due to a proliferation of the blood capillaries and occur mainly on the trunk of the body. Often they appear over several months, having no special significance for general health. Advanced electrolysis can, in one treatment, quickly remove these lesions or reduce them in size.

The treatment involves placing a very fine, sterile probe (needle) beside the blemish and slowly rolling it over the area. A small amount of heat is applied, which ‘dries up’ the blood vessels that feed it. The blemish instantly disappears or visibly reduces in size and appearance. Smaller blood spots usually need one treatment. Larger blood spots may require up to 3 treatments.

Telangiectasia (Red Veins or Thread Veins)

Telangiectasia (Thread Veins / Red Veins) are very small blood vessels that have become widened and visible just beneath the surface of the skin on the face. They cause thread-like red lines or patterns on the skin, which form gradually and often in clusters. They usually appear on the face around the nose, cheeks and chin. There are many causes, for example; Acne Rosacea, ageing, overexposure to the sun, overexposure to cold weather, high-impact exercise, high blood pressure, menopause or smoking, to name a few.

Advanced electrolysis easily removes Telangiectasia (Thread Veins / Red Veins). A small amount of heat is applied to a tiny probe (needle). By lightly tapping this heated probe over the red vein, the blood vessels are cauterised, making the red colour disappear.

Results are instant, but stronger veins may require 2-4 treatments. The veins may return in the future if there are underlying causes. thread vein removal electrolysis

thread vein removal nose advanced electrolysis cheshire

Spider Naevus ( Spider Veins )

Spider Naevi are similar to thread veins, but they have a central capillary from which fine capillaries radiate so they resemble the legs of a spider. Hence the name Spider Naevus. The central body or capillary is often raised and, in the majority of cases, supplies the blood for the radiating capillaries. Spider naevi can occur spontaneously or can occur due to trauma or pregnancy. Advanced electrolysis can easily treat Spider naevi using the same method as for thread veins.

How long will my treatment session last?

The average treatment ranges from 15 to 30 minutes. It will depend on how many lesions you need removing. The amount of time per treatment also depends upon the reaction of your skin to treatment and your sensitivity.

What will I feel during the procedure?

Even the most sensitive person should be able to tolerate the treatments. Most people expect to feel much more discomfort than they actually experience.

Who performs Advanced Electrolysis?

Aesthetician Helena Fryer performs Advanced Electrolysis at Cheshire Lasers using her machine as part of her own business.

Stretch Marks

At Cheshire Lasers Clinic most of our Treatments for Stretch Marks are provided by Dr Priyanka.

What are Stretch Marks?

Stretch marks are the result of damage that occurs to the skin when it is stretched due to rapid growth, pregnancy or weight gain. Teenagers often suffer but so do bodybuilders who put on muscle bulk during exercise regimes.

The rapid stretching causes the middle layer of the skin known as the dermis to tear, and deeper skin layers show through.

Stretch marks are therefore like scars in the middle layer of your skin. Initially stretch marks appear red due to blood vessels under the dermis becoming visible. Over time, the red appearance reduces and the marks become a silvery colour.

Stretch marks often appear more visible when weight is lost as the fatty tissue in the skin often makes the problem less visible. Around 80% of women develop stretch marks in pregnancy, the appearance often can improve naturally over time.

Why have I got Stretch Marks?

Some people are more susceptible than others to stretch marks. They occur in both women and men of all races and skin types. Steroid therapy, and a family history of stretch marks increases your risk. Some people never develop any stretch marks, despite being exposed to excessive skin stretching.

Those who do suffer can understandably feel self-conscious about their bodies, which can lead to anxiety and low of self-esteem. Swimming and exposing the skin whilst on holiday can be awkward too.

How do I treat Stretch Marks?

Stretch marks are difficult to treat.

No one treatment can cure and get rid of them.

Not one treatment is better than another.

People respond differently to the different treatments and the response can not be predicted.

However Stretch Marks can be improved so the visible appearance is reduced.

At Cheshire Lasers we use the following treatments to improve the appearance of stretch marks:

Different people respond to different treatments, for severe stretch marks a combination of treatments is the best option.

Other treatments that may also help stretch marks include:

Pulsed dye laser treatment is one type of laser treatment available.

Laser Resurfacing

Cosmetic camouflage (make-up) is available over-the-counter at pharmacies. Great for small areas of skin affected by stretch marks. Some types are waterproof and last two to three days.

Cosmetic surgery for stretch marks is expensive and rarely recommended.

How do I book treatments for Stretch Marks at Cheshire Lasers Clinic?

First we recommend you book a consultation with Dr Priyanka she can assess your stretch marks. She will take a medical history and will then decide which treatment options would suit you best.

Dr Priyanka can then discuss your treatment options and the prices involved. She will provide you with a treat plan summarising her recommendations. A course of several different treatments are usually recommended for best results.

Should you decide to go ahead with the treatment we can book you in for your first treatment.

How does RRS Mesotherapy treatment work for Stretch Marks?

Mesotherapy treats stretch marks with a cocktail of ingredients that occur naturally in the body in order to promote healing and rejuvenation of the skin. The main ingredients are fibroblast growth factors, which heals and repairs the skin, amino acids, fatty acids, vitamin C and flavonoids which help the skin to rejuvenate.

These ingredients are already present in the body and so further injection just stimulates their actions as opposed to introducing foreign chemicals. One of the most important ingredients used is Silica. This is a mineral that naturally works in the body to correct tissue problems, including scar tissue and help strengthen its collagen fibres.

How many Mesotherapy treatments will I need?

Usually a course of six treatments – every 2 weeks.

How does Microneedling with Dermaroller or Dermapen improve Stretch Marks?

The objective with skin needling is to induce tiny pinprick injuries to the skin. These intentional ‘injuries’ induce thousands of tiny, controlled wound-healing responses. The bleeding induced brings various cellular actions including stimulating fibroblast activity and activating skin growth factors. This is the same response the skin makes to an injury and instigates the formation of new skin, collagen production and tissue remodeling.

To have a real effect on stretch marks the microneedle or roller would need to have needles of between 1.5 mm to 2.5mm long to penetrate into the scar tissue of the stretch mark! This is much longer than a home use roller which are typically 0.2mm to 0.5mm long.

A local anaesthetic cream is required for this treatment as needles of more than 0.3mm / 0.5mm long will reach the nerve endings in the skin and are therefore painful!

This collagen formation helps to smooth and fill in a stretch mark.
Several treatments are needed – depending upon the age and depth of the stretch marks.

How many Microneedling treatments will I need?

A course of 3 or more – every 6 weeks.

How does Carboxytherapy help for Stretch Marks?

Carboxytherapy involves superficially injecting tiny amounts of carbon dioxide gas (CO2) directly into the stretch mark with a tiny needle. The injected medical CO2 gas makes your skin ‘think’ there is an oxygen deficit and it responds by increasing blood flow to the skin and regeneration of tiny blood vessels in the skin. This will with time allow more oxygen and nutrients to reach the skin, which leads to improved elasticity, skin regeneration and tissue remodeling.

Carboxy is most effective on newer stretch marks which are still red. Old stretch marks need 5 to 10 treatments at three weekly intervals.

We recommend a treatment every two to three weeks.

Tretinoin and Vitamin A Derivatives:

Tretinoin often called by its brand name Retin-A, is a prescription-only treatment. It should not be used by pregnant or nursing women and can cause side effects such as redness and peeling.

Vitamin A derivatives such as retinol cause less side effects and a prescription is not needed, however, they need to be used in high enough doses to have an effect.

A 0.1 percent tretinoin (retinoic acid) cream was shown to help diminish early stretch marks in one study, but later results have shown mixed results.

Tretinoin can get through the upper layer of skin and rebuild collagen, which explains how it improves stretch marks for some people. It is more effective on new stretch marks, so early treatment is best. Once the marks have faded to white or silver, tretinoin may not be beneficial.

The ZO’s Body Emulsion Plus is the best body product available without a prescription. With ingredients like retinol, ceramides and emollients, it prevents moisture loss and allows your skin to regain its youthful appearance, texture and tone. Plus, the formulation contains an antioxidant-rich complex with lactic acid to soften rough patches. The Body Emulsion Plus works to perfectly exfoliate, hydrate and nourish for revived and smoother looking skin.

RRS Mesotherapy

Dr Priyanka performs RRS Mesotherapy at Cheshire Lasers Clinic. It is a prescription-only treatment designed to improve skin quality on face, chest and hands by plumping and lifting the skin and boosting collagen. It is also used to treat pigmentation, dark circles and fine lines under the eyes which can enhance your other treatments.

Your skin is the biggest organ in the body. It needs hydration and nutrition to ensure it is healthy and fit for use. mesotherapy is a treatment that can ensure our skin gets the nutrition it needs.

What is mesotherapy?

Mesotherapy is a method which uses needles to insert natural extracts, homeopathic agents, pharmaceuticals, minerals, antioxidants and vitamins into the skin, where they are the most effective. The therapy is very individual and the products used depend on the state on the skin. Those products stimulate the fibroblasts into production of collagen, elastin and extracellular matter, and protect the cells from damage caused by free radicals.

What is RRS mesotherapy?

RRS Technology is a new biorevitalizing procedure delivering nutrition directly into the skin using mesotherapy techniques. Each product contains between 20-72 active biorevitalization substances. RRS are very effective and safe (CE Class III) injection products.
Following an initial skin assessment where your needs and concerns are addressed a combination of the 14 available RRS product formulations are combined for your personal treatment and they are then delivered to the superficial skin layers through a very efficient mesotherapy device called the pistor Eliance gun.
Products activate on injection. delivering the optimal concentration of active ingredients selected to achieve the maximum level of improvement to the healthy function cells.

RRS mesotherapy cocktails are intended for the treatment of the following skin conditions:

  • wrinkles on the face and around the eyes
  • loose skin
  • smoker’s skin
  • tired, dull skin
  • stretch marks

We recommend a course of 4 or 6 treatments, 1 to 2 weeks apart depending on the areas treated. The treatment results can last from 12 to 18 months However to maintain the results the course may need repeating 1-3 times per year.

Can RRS Mesotherapy be combined with other treatments ?

Treatment can be combined in a program with other injectable and skin treatments.

For example botulinum toxin treatment should take place 2 weeks prior to your RRS course. Dermal fillers can be used simultaneously at any of your 6 RRS treatments. RRS can be used immediately before a skin peel or laser treatment.

What are the side effects from RRS Mesotherapy ?

We recommend you have some time to recover after your Mesotherapy treatment.

You will experience some stinging, redness and superficial swelling, which will settle within 24-48 hours.

What Are Skin Booster Treatments?

” Skin Booster” describes a range of Injectable Skin Rejuvenation Treatments.

The first Skin Boosters were made from hyaluronic acid gel, similar to dermal fillers. The gel was injected into the top layers of the skin to produce skin hydration and plumping.

Sometime later, more advanced products became available that did not just plump and hydrate the skin but also had an additional action on the skin cells. These new products stimulate the cells of the skin in a range of different ways, so they don’t just hydrate the skin but also stimulate the production of collagen and elastin.

These treatments perform a process of bio-remodelling, and all of them require a course of treatments a number of weeks apart.

Which Skin Booster Treatment is Best for me?

There are so many available now it is difficult to know which one is best for you. At Cheshire Lasers, we have tried so many over the years. Some we continue to use, and others we have discontinued when something better has come along.

Each treatment contains different ingredients with different properties and also different modes of action.
The procedure for delivering the treatments to the skin also varies. Some require needle injections, whereas others require a cannula to place the product into the skin. The downtime after each treatment and the common side effects post-treatment also vary.

There are pros and cons to each type. It depends on the area of concern, which treatments you have had before and how you have responded. Do you prefer a needle or cannula treatment? Or prefer to have fewer treatment sessions?  Or prefer a treatment which does not contain hyaluronic acid?

Collagen stimulation is not an exact science, and some people respond to one treatment better than another.

At Cheshire Lasers, the following Skin Boosters are available:

Profhiloprofhilo treatment cheshire

Profhilo has been one of the most popular skin booster treatments at Cheshire Lasers.

This treatment has been available since 2017 at Cheshire Lasers, so our medical team have lots of experience with this treatment.

Active ingredients:  Hyaluronic acid.

?? It involves ten injection points which result in small lumps under the skin.

The treatment takes 5 to 10 minutes.

The lumps go down over 8-24 hours as the product disperses under the skin.

The treatment promotes collagen and elastin growth to reduce skin laxity and improve skin hydration.

Most people need two treatments one month apart.

Results last for approximately six months.

To maintain results, you will require a maintenance treatment every 4-6 months.

This treatment is performed by Dr Teri Johnson, Aesthetic Nurse Moira Grobicki and Dr Kyra Drinnan.

Polynucleotides

Polynucleotides- Nucleofill Plenhyage and Plinest Rejuvenation TreatmentsPolynucleotides have been used since the 1950s; initially, they were used for wound healing.

Active ingredients: Polynucleotides ( the building blocks of DNA).

Nucleofill, Plenhyage, and Plinest are all polynucleotide treatments that regenerate the skin by stimulating collagen and elastin growth in the skin. They also improve signs of ageing, reduce laxity and dehydration, and improve scars and some pigmentation.

Polynucleotides can improve the skin anywhere. They are a popular treatment for the tear trough area, where they help decrease lower eyelid laxity, fine lines, and wrinkles and improve skin hydration.

Dermaroller

The Dermaroller can be used for skin rejuvenation, stretch marks and scar repair.

It is CE marked, sterile and is a single use disposable medical device.

We use only genuine Dermaroller’s form Aestheticare.

he Dermaroller medical device creates controlled micro-needle punctures of the skin surface. It is used sterile, is single-use and utilises the highest quality materials and workmanship in its construction.

As a consequence of the treatment, the skins natural repair process releases the body’s own growth and healing factors that stimulate new collagen and skin cells to develop under the skin surface. The repair process can take 6 weeks to become visible and will continue in the months after the procedure. A series of 2 to 4 Dermaroller treatments, normally with at least 6 weeks between procedures, are needed to achieve the maximum results.

Acne Scarring

The dermaroller is gaining increasing popularity especially for acne scarring. 2 to 4 treatments are needed for a 70- 80% improvement.

Acne scarring can also be improved by fraxel, chemical peels and subcision. The following article may be of interest if you are considering any of these treatments.

Ageing Skin lines and wrinkles

We have also seen some good results on facial and décolleté lines and wrinkles.

Even some of the big celebrities are now using this treatment. Here is an article from Grazia Magazine about Angelina Jolie. The dermaroller is also mentioned in Hello.

Stretch Marks

Stretch marks also respond well to treatment with the Dermaroller – a great treatment after pregnancy.

What does a Dermaroller Treatment involve ?

The Dermaroller procedure can cause temporary pain, although it is normally less painful than alternative facial medical regeneration procedures. This can normally be well controlled with the use of a topical anaesthetic cream.

What to expect after a Dermaroller Treatment

Immediately after the Dermaroller procedure the skin will be red, resembling mild to moderate sunburn. As the skin naturally heals the redness will resolve. The skin usually settles after a few hours but it can remain red for three to four days after a Dermaroller treatment. Many people are able to return to their normal activities the same or next day.

It is very important to follow sun / UV exposure and protection measures for at least 2 weeks after the procedure. An SPF 50 or higher and with stated UVA and UVB protection on a daily basis with regular applications for the same period is recommended.

There is a home Dermaroller, which does not cause as much trauma to the skin, that can be purchased from us or online to use in between treatments to enhance results. This can also be used on is own for anti ageing.

The genuine Dermarollers has been mentioned in the press so much recently here is a summary.
